Ingredients & Certifications FAQ
Clear answers to help you understand our formulas and choose your skincare with confidence. For the ingredients, claims and directions of a specific product, always check its own product page and packaging.
Ingredients & Fragrance
Where can I find the full ingredient list, and what does INCI mean?
Each product page includes an Ingredients / INCI section. INCI is the standard naming system for cosmetic ingredients. The full list shows the formula’s composition; the Key Ingredients section highlights selected ingredients and does not replace it. Read our INCI guide.
Do your products contain fragrance or essential oils?
Some formulas contain fragrance or essential oils, while others are fragrance-free. Check each product’s fragrance information and complete INCI list. Parfum/Fragrance identifies an added fragrance composition; individual essential oils may also appear by their ingredient names. Natural-origin fragrance is still fragrance.
How can I find fragrance-free products?
Look for an explicit fragrance-free claim on the individual product page and review its INCI list. A product being described as natural, certified or suitable for sensitive skin does not automatically mean it is fragrance-free. If you are unsure about a particular formula, contact us before ordering.
Why are preservatives used in cosmetics?
Preservatives help protect a cosmetic formula against microbial contamination. A short ingredient list or a natural-origin claim does not mean that preservation is unnecessary. The ingredients used in each formula are listed in its complete INCI section.
Certifications & Product Claims
What is the difference between COSMOS NATURAL and COSMOS ORGANIC?
Both are certification signatures under the COSMOS-standard. COSMOS ORGANIC has additional organic-content requirements. COSMOS NATURAL does not mean that a product is 100% natural or organic. Check the natural-origin and organic-origin percentages stated for the individual product. Explore our COSMOS guide.
Is every Lueur Beauté product COSMOS certified?
Our range includes products certified to COSMOS NATURAL or COSMOS ORGANIC by ECOCERT Greenlife. Certification applies to the individual products identified on their pages; it is not a blanket certification for the whole store. Check the Certifications & Standards section of the product you are considering.
Are all your products vegan?
Vegan status is stated on individual product pages. Check that a separate vegan claim is listed for your chosen product, particularly when comparing formulas or sets. COSMOS certification on its own does not establish vegan status.
What does “dermatologically tested” mean?
Where stated by the manufacturer, this indicates that the finished formula has undergone testing under dermatological supervision. It does not guarantee that every person will tolerate the product, and it does not mean fragrance-free. Check the product’s intended skin type, full ingredients and directions as well.
Choosing & Using Products
How do I choose a product for my skin type?
Start with the skin type and concern information on the product page, then compare the formula, texture, fragrance and directions. Our Face Care collection is organised around different skincare needs. If you would like help comparing products, tell us which ones you are considering.
How should I compare products for sensitive skin?
Look for products specifically described as suitable for sensitive skin and read their full ingredients and fragrance information. A natural-origin or certification claim alone does not guarantee individual tolerance. Explore our Sensitive Skin collection and check each formula separately.
How should I store products and check their expiry?
Follow the storage directions and expiry information on the product packaging. Keep containers closed and follow any product-specific temperature or sunlight instructions. Where shown, the open-jar symbol indicates how many months a product can be used after opening. There is no single shelf life that applies to every formula.
How do I introduce a new product into my routine?
Read the product’s directions before use and introduce one new product at a time. Testing on a small area first can help identify an unwanted reaction; follow the product’s application and rinsing instructions during testing. Stop using it if irritation occurs. A home test cannot guarantee that a product will never cause a reaction. Read the American Academy of Dermatology’s testing guidance.
